Management are incentivised to staff as few employees as possible to maximize profit. I learned that at a large multinational companies they're willing to trading in the health and well being of their employees for a little extra profit. In addition, being a bartender allowed me to get better with customer service, I loved talking and getting along with the customers because it made me happy when making customers happy.Ī typical day at work includes running around like a headless chicken because the restaurant was habitually understaffed. The most enjoyable part of the job was making cocktails and giving them to the customers because the customers would always have a smile on their face when they got their cocktails. However, they taught me very clearly how to do things and after 2 weeks I no longer needed training. The hardest part of work was at the beginning week when I had to learn more than 100 cocktails and learn the way how TGI Fridays breakdown their bar. I worked 4 days a week and everyday and every day at work I felt at home. The work flow was fast paced and I adapted to the speed after a few days. TGI Fridays really helped me gain a great knowledge on bartending as they let me do a training course for a month. I got along with all the workers and my manger, we all treated each other like family and as equals. I worked here for all spring and summer as a bartender, I enjoyed my time working here. ![]()
